Call of Duty: Strike Team Review

A whole new Call of Duty game hits The App Store and showcases the franchise in a whole new light. A single player action FPS is something very new in the whole world of Call of Duty. The single player really was interesting, but it still worked well. I guess you can see it's that we aren't just used to the single player when it comes to Call of Duty.

First off, it's $6.99 here in the USA. And my take on it is that it's too overpriced and isn't worth the price and should atleast be lowered by $2. Anyways, the gameplay overall is great, and the campaign was surprisingly fun and exciting. Plus, the graphics were great and were really impressive. Also, Tokens are easy to use and are used to buy new weapons and perks. The only bad thing is that the game is overpriced and I think that once you go farther into the game it gets difficult to a point where it's impossible.

Anyways, the game is great and I can see a lot of people enjoying the game. I rate Call of Duty: Strike Team a 8 out of 10.

NEWS: Where is the Week Project, When Will it Come Back?

Hey guys, MG here with some saddening news.  School is starting again and we will be busy, so we will have to discontinue The Week Project and posts will most likely decrease during the week, along with video production.  I hope you guys still will enjoy the blog even without daily posts.  I hope this is a good explanation and I will hope you guys understand.  By the way, The Week Project is starting again next summer.  Enjoy!

Killzone: Mercenary Review

Hey guys, MG here with a Killzone: Mercenary review.  First of all, I have to say the graphics have taken a turn for the best, considering that it was made on the PS Vita so hat tip to you Guerrilla Cambridge.  The combat and mobility is fine, but the melee combat can be sort of 'trippy' if you know what I mean.  Also, the campaign is extremely short with only 9 missions, bu the beautiful landscapes save this awesome game.  Overall, i think this game deserves a 7.9 out of 10.  See you guys later.

NHL 14 Review

Classic, old, hockey fights is probably one of the only reasons I watch hockey. Although, I did have a fun time with NHL 14. I had a fun time participating in a hockey fight in the game and the new NHL 94 mode which is filled with tons of nostalgia for new and old hockey fans.

The gameplay overall is great and has definitely improved from last year considering EA added new skating physics and mechanics in NHL 13. Anyways, NHL 14 is the most violent hockey game in the franchise hands down. The hard hits are absolutely beautiful and the fights are exciting. Now, onto the bad stuff. The AI are really stupid and most of the time don't know what they're doing which can probably cause a lot of rage. Lastly, I thought the graphics were pretty dull most of the time.

Overall, NHL 14 is indeed a great game and is the most violent hockey game in the franchise. The fights and hard hits are exciting, but the graphics can get really dull most of the time and the AI are pretty much useless. I rate NHL 14 a 8 out of 10.

CLASSIC SATURDAYS: Pokemon Red (90s GB) Review

Ladies, and gentlemen, boys, and girls, here we have Pokemon Red. A unique, interesting, but amazing type of RPG equals up to one of the greatest games in the Pokemon franchise. Experience a whole new Pokemon journey on the Game Boy where we battle Team Rocket, and a lot more exciting scenes that can crawl up your sleeve anytime when you least expect it.

The battles are intense which is a big plus for the game. Now what I really loved about Pokemon Red is it's fantastic multiplayer. Just grab your friend and BAM! You'll be having a Pokemon battle that can most likely ruin your friendship. Plus, you can even trade your Pokemon with your friend! Once you finish the game, you'll always go back to catch the Pokemon you haven't caught yet.

Overall, the game is fantastic and is a serious game for all gamers or long time coming die hard Pokemon game. This game is indeed a MGR Select so I rate Pokemon Red a 9 out of 10.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is a MGR Select? A MGR Select is a favored game that we love at Monkey Gamer Reviews and we all recommended it to you and your friends.

Puppeteer Review

Experience the whole world of Puppeteer in which SCE Japan Studio offers something different and new to the PlayStation 3 library of games. The platformer is rewarding, sweet, and really captures one of the most hardcore gamer out their. I guess you can say is that Puppeteer is for every gamer out their.

Puppeteer really reminded me if LittleBigPlanet and Muramasa Rebirth made a baby and soon Puppeteer was born. Minus the anime in Muramasa, the graphics and the game played out really reminded me of the gameplay in Muramasa Rebirth on my PS Vita. While the LittleBigPlanet remembrance in Puppeteer was absolutely everything. The beautiful artsyle really caught my eye and you should always grab a friend or a family member to join in with you in Puppeteer. I also loved that it offers tons of content so the replay value is high. Although, I got to dislike the face that their isn't a Puppeteer online and if they did have a Puppeteer online, I would be playing that for days, hours, months, even years.

Overall, the game is a blast. It's a lot like a LittleBigPlanet meets Muramasa Rebirth and it offers tons of content. Although, I didn't like the fact their was no Puppeteer Online. I rate Puppeteer a 8.7 out of 10.

TOP 5 FRIDAYS: Top 5 Game Boys

Hello Gamers!
Welcome to Top 5 Fridays! Today on Top 5, I'll give my list of the Top 5 Game Boys just for your nostalgia happiness!

5. Game Boy Micro

This is was probably one of the most interesting, but cool Game Boy ever! It's really small screen and light weight (2.8 oz) was something we never seen before in 2005. All I know is that we will never see a handheld console like this one around this time.

4. Game Boy Advance SP

The Game Boy Advance SP was one of my personal favorites. I had TONS of games on it and the reason I loved it so much was because my Game Boy Advance SP was SpongeBob. Classic.

3. Game Boy Advance

The Game Boy Advance was loved by gamers everywhere and was compared to the SNES. They both were home to great classics like The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

2. Game Boy

The original Game Boy, or should I say the OG Game Boy was one of the best things Nintendo ever invented during the late 80s early 90s. So impressive, the Game Boy is everywhere especially iPhone cases if you know what I mean.

1. Game Boy Color

The Game Boy Color was like weed to every 90s kid. Just like the Game Boy Advance, it was loved and compared to the NES with home to many great classics.

Well, that's it for this week's Top 5 Fridays! For more nostalgia, stay tuned for tomorrow for some Classic Saturdays!

Terraria Review

Before I start the review, I want to say that I am doing a review of the new, just released app, Terraria. I am not doing a review of Terraria on the PC. Anyways, now that is over, let's start the review!

A 2D world where killing, crafting, and most of all, surviving is everything in the game of Terraria. I remember the first time I played Terraria on the PC, I had a blast and soon, I also had a blast on my Xbox. Now, Terraria has come to The App Store, and I hope I have a blast with it also. I think I should really stop saying blast now, shouldn't I?

Starting at $4.99, right off the bat I'm going to have to dislike the price of it. Although, the good thing about the price is that cheaper than Minecraft Pocket Edition which is not bad. Anyways, it was really fun doing the basics in what I do in Minecraft Survival like chopping down trees and slashing down monsters. The bosses were challenging and was very rewarding. Lastly, the biggest disappointment in Terraria was that their was no multiplayer. While, I was playing Terraria on the PC, I loved the multiplayer and seeing that it's not on the Terraria app really crushes my Terraria dreams.

Overall, Terraria is pretty fun. It's just the same ol' game just in the palm of your hands. The biggest disappointment was that their is no multiplayer, though, the boss were challenging and rewarding. I rate Terraria a 8 out of 10.

Total War: Rome II Review

Sega invites you to Total War: Rome II. A fun, RTS that will have you staring at your computer screen and clicking your mouse for hours and hours. From having a joust with your opponent, or leading your gigantic team to victory is one exciting way to play Total War: Rome II.

First off, the graphics are mediocre, and considering this game is on the PC really disappointed me because graphics on the PC are always fantastic! I also thought that the battles itself was a bit dull, but it's still fun once you can learn all the awesome stuff Total War offers. Also, I realized that the game does go slow, and by slow I mean the game itself. Although, what I did really like about the game is that the map is really huge so you can have an endless battle in an endless map.

Although the game can be slow overall, it takes time to learn, and when you do, it's sort of fun. Despite, the dull graphics, the endless map will have you playing for hours. The game is mediocre so I rate Total War: Rome II a 7.5 out of 10.

WEAPON WEDNESDAYS: Hammer from Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Hello Gamers!
Welcome to this week's Weapon Wednesdays. Today, we will feature the Hammer from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The franchise is already a classic, and the hammer is also a classic too! Smashing your enemies obnoxiously is probably one of the most fun I ever had with a construction tool before a jackhammer.

What makes me enjoy this game is that the hammer is one of the most overpowered weapons in Super Smash Bros. That's pretty much the reason why everyone loves the hammer. It's probably the most simple weapon their is, but it's one of the best ones to have. I just can't wait for the new Super Smash Bros. so I can use the Wii Fit Trainer smashing her opponents with a hammer while screaming, "Hammer Time!" Geez, that would be priceless.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows Review

A rejected, cartoon, kids action game is probably one of the most easiest ways to describe TMNT: Out of the Shadows. The boring hack and slash gameplay really ways repetitive, and I didn't know what the game had to offer to make it special.

First off, I noticed the graphics on the turtles were really horrible and I thought that the developers were very proud of the graphics. Well, you know what they should be proud of? Making a horrible game! The graphics itself are much more worse. The gameplay is an absolute mess, and I doubt a four year old would even finish the game. I really got annoyed with the sound considering the stuff the turtles said was really on and on. This game is terrible. That's enough said.

The only good thing I think about this game is that I can see a few dads playing this game with their son having a fun time. Although, I highly doubt that. I rate Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows a 2.5 out of 10.

TROLLING TUESDAYS: Grand Theft Auto V Trolling

Hey guys, MG here with Trolling Tuesdays and today we will do GTA V.  Hope you enjoy!

Clearly this spin-off of GTA will be MUCH more fun than the original.

"Muahahahahhahaha"
